Description

Details

The stylish polished cast concrete bee brick is an exciting new innovation, created to be used as a standalone solitary bee hotel in your garden or in place of a standard brick in construction, creating more habitat for solitary bees. Designed and made in Britain using locally sourced granite aggregate, the bee brick provides a stylish nesting site for red mason bees and leaf cutter bees, amongst others, and makes a lovely addition to any garden, allotment or building.

The bee brick makes a great gift and has proved particularly popular with menfolk! It’s also a lovely way to introduce kids to bees because the solitary bees have no queen or honey to protect, meaning they are non-aggressive.

If you’re interested in incorporating the bee brick into an extension, landscape project, new build, retrofit or other project please contact us for a quotation.

Dimensions
215mm x 105mm x 65mm

Positioning
The bee brick should be positioned in a warm sunny spot, south facing, with no vegetation in front of the holes. Ideally placed at around 1 metre from the ground.

Each bee brick has cavities where the bees will lay their eggs, sealing the entrance with mud or chewed up vegetation. Offspring emerge in the Spring and begin the process of nesting again, repeating the cycle.
