Wild-X Cavity Bat Roost
We've been talking about this one for a while, but it is in production now! Great for inclusion on Code for Sustainable Homes projects because it forms an integral part of the building. See the full details.

Anabat 12v Power Supply Leads- Safety Message
We have recently had an incident where one of these leads (code 2635) melted and was a potential fire hazard. Thankfully this happened within seconds of it being connected so the operator was still on hand to deal with it.
We have inspected the lead, and it is clear that a short circuit occurred. In normal circumstances this would blow the fuse instantly, but this particular lead was coiled over the top of the battery, and and the jack plug was not connected to an anabat. We can only assume that either the jack plug shorted directly to the battery terminal or there was a crack in the sheathing that allowed bare wires to touch the terminal, thereby bypassing the in-line fuse.
What we have done: We are now supplying these leads at only 300mm long to reduce the amount of cable that is potentially curled up in the box, and we are including an in-line fuse on both cables.
What you should do: Check the cables regularly for signs of wear and replace if necessary. Do not connect the lead to the battery without connecting it to the anabat. Do make sure excess cable is kept clear of the battery terminals.
